Game-Play of the WWF Superstars Classic Arcade Game

In this classic wrestling game, Hulk Hogan and the Honky Tonk Man join forces in an epic tag team match. Players can select two wrestlers from a lineup that includes Hulk Hogan, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, The Ultimate Warrior, Big Boss Man, "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, and The Honky Tonk Man. Up to two players can play simultaneously, guiding their team through a series of matches against other tag teams in both New York City and Tokyo.

The classic game features a simple grappling and attack system. Players can toss opponents from a grapple, throw them into the ropes, or initiate a headlock, which leads to character-specific grapple moves. Each wrestler also has standing strikes, running attacks, running counterattacks, ground attacks, and moves from the top turnbuckle. While a referee is present, they cannot be attacked or influenced by the wrestlers.

Players can brawl outside the ring, but must reenter before a count of 20. Outside the ring, they can pick up and swing a table at opponents. If both wrestlers exit the ring simultaneously, their tag team partners will automatically join the fray, sometimes returning with a folding chair. Winning three matches allows players to challenge the Mega Bucks (Ted DiBiase and Andre the Giant) for the championship. However, most grapple moves do not work against Andre due to his size. If players win the title match, a newspaper headline declares them champions, leading to another series of matches before facing DiBiase and Andre again in the final match.
